# How to turn on your free SSL certificate

Every domain on your hosting account can use a free SSL certificate, so your website loads securely over HTTPS.

1. Make sure your domain already points to your hosting account. SSL can only be issued once it does.
2. Log in to cPanel and open **SSL/TLS Status**.
3. Select your domains and click **Run AutoSSL**.
4. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the page. A green padlock means the certificate is active.

## Force HTTPS

In cPanel, open **Domains** and turn on **Force HTTPS Redirect** for your domain. WordPress users should also set both site addresses to `https://` under **Settings > General**.

Need a different type of certificate? See [SSL certificates](https://aipoweredhosting.com/ssl-certificates/).
