# How to change your PHP version

You can choose any PHP version from 5.6 to 8.4 for your account.

1. Log in to cPanel and open **Select PHP Version**.
2. Choose the version you need from the list and click **Set as current**.
3. Optional: open the **Extensions** tab to turn PHP extensions on or off.
4. Open your website and check that everything still works.

## Which version should I use?

Use the newest version that your website, theme and plugins support. Newer versions are faster and still receive security fixes. If something breaks after a change, switch back to the previous version and contact us.
